The light ring, which turns red when water is boiling, now flashes blue: sparkling water is approaching. If you hold the button a little longer, still water comes out of the tap and the light ring turns solid blue. This means it is not possible to accidentally tap boiling water even though you actually wanted to tap chilled water. Incidentally, in standby mode, the energy costs are only around 5 cents per day.

Boiling water in the kitchen is a source of danger. Falling kettles cause hundreds of accidents every year, often involving small children. With the Quooker mixer tap, this is a thing of the past.
